Can a regular product manager become an AI product manager?
Yes, and most AI PMs did exactly that. Learn how evaluation works, build a small model-backed prototype yourself, and ask to own an AI feature in your current product. One shipped AI feature with quality numbers beats any course.
Can a data scientist or ML engineer become an AI PM?
Yes, and technical backgrounds count for more here than in most product roles. What you have to prove is product judgment. Show a problem you chose, users you talked to, and a trade-off you made for the product rather than the model.
What comes after AI product manager?
Usually group PM, then director of product or head of AI product. Some move to AI platform product roles. A growing number go into responsible AI or AI governance leadership.
